Our chief aeronautical designer Bill Hansen has got a brain the size of a planet. Over to him on this one:
“All Switch SLE bridled kites use a proven and safe Transfer Line (TL) bridle system with a single low-load kite-mounted pulley connecting the front and rear flying lines. The TL system supports the critical mid-wingtip area allowing a smaller and lighter construction without support battens or overly large LE tube diameters. Turning is smooth and sheeting is consistent with a tight, ‘connected’ hard line feel which isn’t possible with floating high-load front line pulleys – which are subject to frequent pitch oscillations and potentially dangerous failure.”
Er… right on, Bill. If we translate that via our babelfish discombobulator it translates to something like “the pulley gives you brilliant performance and a direct feel. It rocks”
