Overview //Method2

5m,6m,7m,9m,11m,13m

Born on the North Shore of Hawaii, the Method was purpose designed to give wave riders the perfect tool to experience the most natural surf feel possible. Top surfers have chosen the Method as their 'go to' kite worldwide.

Smooth, constant power during your turns without any hesitation or back stall will allow you to choose the perfect line rather than experiencing an unpredictable kite that rips you off your board.

Hooked in or unhooked the Method has unparalleled stability and drift so it will always be ready for your next move.

If sheeted in or out the direct bar response keeps you in full control and you always know precisely where your kite is. The adjustable bar pressure and turning speed options allow you to fine tune your Method’s response to your personal preference.

A new design feature taken from our race kites is the unbeatable upwind performance that effortlessly gets you back to the point for your next wave.

Rounded off with instant re-launch the Method will always be ready to get you back into action.

What's new?

We kept all the features that were loved by the original Method users, such as constant power through the turns, smooth power control from full power to complete depower within the bar throw, unreal upwind performance and instant relaunch.

By modifying the kite’s outline and relocating the bridle attachment points, we were able to drastically increase stability in gusty shifty offshore winds. These changes also decreased the bar pressure and resulted in a tighter turning radius. We’ve also listened to your requests and added 6 and 11m sized kited to our line up.

The 13m was designed with our heavier customers in mind that need that extra power to make it safely through the wash. It is not the answer for light wind down the line wave riding for the regular guy in below 12 knots. Unfortunately we can’t change the physics of that equation, and a 13m won’t help you riding glassy waves in a light breeze.

Is this kite right for you?

If you're a surfing pro or riding waves for the first time the Methods predictable performance will always set you up for the best wave riding experience possible. The Method is purpose built for surfing, but riders who spend the occasional session in flat water will find its speed and stability will keep you amped while hitting freestyle and boosting.

Method V2 13mReview by martins
I was super skeptical about this kite since Switch kites are not very popular in my country, however I took the risk and bought 13m method v2. I flew it on several occasions already with winds starting from 10kn up to 20kn. and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The kite is super stable eats up wind gusts like no other, super easy relaunch and no back stalling even in 10kn wind. The kite turns relatively fast for a 13m. Since this kite is so stable I use it for teaching. I would recommend this kite for beginners as well as for more experienced riders. who want stability predictability and safety.

Cheers! (Posted on 27/08/15)
method v2 11m 9m 7mReview by Frank
What can l say more ...l have been flying the old v1's, for that period great kites till Bill Hansen changed the V1 drawings to build the V2...great improvement en till today a great kite...
I flew before some of Bill's Eclipse wavekites at the time...hoped he could bring some of these features in the methodV3 if it comes.
The eclipse wavekites were faster and had less bar pressure...so it is possible...if Switch \Bill build this in to a hopefully coming Method V3 l would buy myself a new range immediately..
For the moment l keep mothering my methods as to keep them as long as Bill \ Switch needs to come up with the new V3 versions...keep my fingers crossed...

Does this tell you doubters enough not to ndoubt and buy this dream of a wave and free ride kite. (Posted on 12/05/15)
Perfect storm kite! Review by Kaito
I have been flying the method2 5m for a few months now & couldn't be happier with it's performance! At 67~68kgs, it's my high wind kite I use from 18knots & up! We mainly get wind waves at my spot & the windier, the better the waves! Before I started flying the method2, I would either get overpowered, or the kite wouldn't be able to handle the high wind & gusty, variable conditions..NOT the case with the Method2!! So comfortable, even in stormy, gusty conditions. Soaks ip gusts & even when the wind lulls, it keeps on pulling:)
One thing that blew me away was the Method2's amazing drift!!! I've run under it in high wind waves, by 15feet+ and it just floated calmly back to the windows edge & stayed in the air with no drama as line tension came back. Very confidence building in challenging conditions!!
Definatly recommend this kite for anyone looking for an easy, very predictable high wind friend! ;) (Posted on 10/04/15)

Great kiteReview by Andre
The Method 2 is a very versatile kite, great especially for surfing, the kite parks well downwind when necessary, fast turning, plenty of power, very similar kite to the cabrinha drifter but half the price (Posted on 17/03/15)
Great downwind driftReview by Andrew
I have tried the method a few times now in different conditions. The best thing I like about the kite is the ability to park itself downwind when needed. The kite also has great power and stability and very good turning speed. It is made for wave riding but I have tried it on flat water as well and it performed great. (Posted on 10/03/15)

Method 5 mReview by Valentin
(Posted on 14/12/14)

Very happy with this kite ...Review by Salvador
Have the Method in sizes 5 and 7 for waveriding, and they have never disappointed me:
- very good windrange, especially the low end
- great upwind
- direct feel ... you always know where the kite is
- good drift, stays in the air even when there is no tension in the lines when riding down the line
- Easy and effective pumping system => 1st one on the water!

What I would like to see more (in my next kites) would be a bit more speed in the turns, and a bit lower bar-pressure.

Overall: recommended! ;-) (Posted on 5/11/14)
fast and furiousReview by Antonio
Puro divertimento lo consiglio sicuramente (Posted on 10/09/14)
perfect wave Review by Enrico
I spent around 30 days on a 7m Method 2 in northern Brazil riding waist to chest high waves. The wind range (I weight 92 Kg) was impressive - I was riding this in the low 20s to high 30s - plenty of adjustment available to power and de-power the kite. Best of all the float and stability of the kite was better than any other wave kite I have riden. In side off shore wind, it was easy to unhook and ride the wave. I was also surprised with the responsiveness given how stable the kite was. (Posted on 22/08/14)
Méthode V2 5 mReview by GIBERT
I bought this kite last winter as i had to find one to kitefoil over 30 knots and gusty conditions...This kite matches these conditions!!
Smooth and easy to pilot, responsive when you need to get out of some agressive swell. The Method V2 is a reliable kite in every conditions from a wave to a flat terrain!!
And always a highl quality construction with no compromise. (Posted on 23/07/14)
pure vagueReview by Elyes

Great wind range and stability in a well built, tough kite Review by Vincent

The inflate and deflate system is bomber and allows air in and out quickly and completely. The only non-deal part of the kite design I found was the way the inflate/deflate valve (which is quite big and protrudes) would sometimes end up rubbing on the main panel of the kite, next to the patch that protects that panel. The only damaged the kite sustained was due to this - despite getting a pretty tough work out. Make sure you pack up this kite properly to avoid this. (Posted on 16/05/14)

Nice KiteReview by Henrik
I have been riding the Switch Methods for about a year in almost every conditions there is (from sunny days with winds from 15-20 knots to stormy winterdays in heavy conditions. The thing i like the most is the kites ability to stay in that spot that you want and its ability to stay in that spot when you catch a bigger wave. It keeps the focus from the kite so you can focus on the wave and the riding.

The quality is great and after some (minor accidents) the kite has no damages.

If you are a beginner i can recomend you to go down one kitesize.
I can really recomend this kite for both lighter and heavy conditions! (Posted on 20/12/13)
method v2 6mReview by marco
(Posted on 30/11/13)
