Overview //Combat2

The Combat2 is an extreme power plant solely designed to take your high performance wake style riding to the next level. This new age C-kite delivers powerful pop and predictable line slack while maintaining rock solid stability. Loaded with precise bar feedback you have a direct link with your kite so you know exactly where your kite is even during the most technical tricks.

Marc Jacobs, currently ranked number 2 in the world, has been the driving force behind the Combat's evolution. For Marc to consistently be at the top on the demanding PKRA world tour he needs to have the very best equipment and the latest designs available. Marc worked closely with Bill Hansen, our chief designer, to develop the Combat to excel in technical performance and be strong enough to handle extreme riding.

What's new?

2 years ago the Combat stormed into the competitive freestyle world taking down its competition, stealing centre stage for its stable high powered wake style performance. To keep the Combat scaring the competition we have been working hard to develop the next generation.
Armed with Marc’s experience on the PKRA, our loyal customers' feedback and the latest technologies, we produced the new Combat2.

It wasn’t easy but we managed to replicate the same crisp performance of a batten with an inflatable wing tip. So now you have the benefits of a single inflation kite and still have that smooth direct drive the Combat is famous for.

The 13m, 15m and 9m have a modified higher aspect platform with longer wingtips to increase boost and efficiency while retaining a proper turning speed.
The 11m profile has been refined to optimize line slack and has slightly faster turning. The 7m was the biggest challenge. After many prototypes we created a kite loop machine that is still stable enough for handle passes in 40 knots.
The wing tips have been reinforced to add rigidity to the new inflatable section while increasing overall strength.

The Combat2 is now wake XXX rated. Can you handle it?

Is this kite right for you?

The Combat2 is our pro level extreme wake and freestyle kite. It has the power to push the most advanced riders with the stability and predictability that intermediate riders can harness to push their skills to the next level.

Combined with easy relaunch and the safety of the 5th line the Combat2 will keep you ready for your next trick.

Switch Combat 2Review by Tumai Ina
I have tried a friends 9m Combat who he bought from the man himself MJ, and was blown away with the performance and overall make of the kite itself. First thing I notice was how good the kite sits while doing wakestyle tricks, and knowing where the kite is at all times while inverted or eyes away from the kite in general. The wind was cranking over 25 knots and this kites has major boost issues, I notice sometimes just going for a boost it almost feels like its gona rip me out of my bindings. It has a really nice rip me off the water boost which I like a lot. (In saying this, I guess maybe it depends on how people load up for the boost) Unhook tricks is where it excels the pop and drop is amazing. Im not doing all the crazy mobes and stuff, but a few in my trick bag to understand the quality of good pop and nice slack. Freeride is still amazing as well.
Now I recently bought myself a combat 2 11m and can not wait to take it out. The team from Switch are very very helpful and the customer service was through the roof. Good Kites and good customer service, what more can you ask (Posted on 2/07/15)
L'aile freestyle pour progresserReview by Jordan

The kite has great pop, hang time and lift but also is a good al round kite, has good un hooking, goes upwind really well and has good down wind drift, I have been using Cabrinha kites till a few months ago until friend recommended Switch to me, after I made the move over to switch I sold all my cabrinha gear and have never looked back (Posted on 16/03/15)
Great power and stability Review by Andrew
I don't actually own a combat 2 but I have tried it a few times. I love the power of the kite, but, at the same time it has excellent stability. The great thing I like about the kite is it comes included with all the gear: pump, bag repair kit. ecc. (Posted on 9/03/15)

7m CombatReview by James
Had this kite since the start of the year when my ancient fuel finally fell apart. Can't say much except - it's frigging awesome. Kiteloops are a blast, it unhooks really well and makes kiting when the the winds gusting into the mid 30s really easy. Build quality is great - I've smashed it into waves and it still looks brand new. Easily my favorite of all the switch kites I've tried. (Posted on 20/10/14)
power of freestyleReview by Enrico
he 11m is used from 14knots to 20.
Huge pop, good slack. This kite is aslo a machine for old school: the lift is good, and the hang time is really surprising.
Bar feeling is: easy to pull, hard to turn. You will not experiment "parasite movement of the kite" during freestyle. But this hard to turn feeling doesn't mean the kite is slow: give it a good pull and il will move fast. Very direct steering, absolutely no delay. You can drive the kite with the precision of a surgeon, and it will give you the kick of a lumberjack.
Unhooked kiteloops are pure pleasure as the kite is non-pivotal in its turns: it gives a strong boost (Posted on 22/08/14)
Ultimate C-KiteReview by Elliot
Aile: Combat V2
Taille: 11m
Prix: 715€
Programme: Wakestyle

Machine, Big kite and perfectReview by Marc
Perfect kite to do freestyle, unhooked jumps are increibles and i recommend fly with 20m lines (Posted on 17/07/14)
Advanced freestyle but also extrem freeride machineReview by Yeroglyf
I use the combat2 in 11/9/7m sizes. My board is not know for its low end, as it is a rocky board. I use the C power front pigtail, not the 'more depower one'. As far as I'm concerned, depower is good enough.
The 11m is used from 14knots to 20.
Unhooked kiteloops are pure pleasure as the kite is non-pivotal in its turns: it gives a strong boost

The 9 is slightly lighter in bar. Except this change, it's the same one... except it has no limit (for hard freeriding). Tested and approver when people are using 6m kites on flat water. You can go big with this one...

The 7 is good also for unhooking (stable enough) in low end (I admit not unhooking when it comes stronger...) . Will you have the guts to megaloop it? If yes, you will reach your personnal limit a long way before this kite reach its limits....

Who's this kite for?
As said, freestyler, wakestyler will love the kite. It's now known and recognized.
But I also want to add advanced freeriders. If you love to tear the water, crossing the spot at maximum speed, with big power in the kite, sending huge jumps, looping and appreciate a fine kite driving, you should demo this one. Especially if you also practice some unhooking, where the combat excels. (Posted on 17/07/14)
Does everything it says it will and moreReview by mogmachine
Having ridden Naish Torches for many years and being a real c-kite lover, I was not disappointed when I made the move to Switch, ...the kite just sits where you put it in the window and stays there, ...tell it what to do in a commanding voice (hand actions work better actually) and it moves as fast as any other kite, ..but ask it if it wouldn't mind moving for you, ..and it will stay where it is.

This kite needs to be flown ...but if you like flying your kite rather than your kite flying you, then this kite does everything, ...I also love it in the waves although Switch would tell you to buy a method.

PROS: Massive pop, ..and I mean massive. great slack in the lines at the apex of the your jump for passing the bar, ...instant relaunch, ..(even I was surprised at this, but no 5th required for relaunch 95% of the time, ..but there when you want it).
Solid feel and super tough construction.

CONS: Massive pop ;) ....at my age I should be slowing down and my kite won't let me, ...so I have had to invest in an ankle brace and medical insurance because of this damn kite. Permanent smile wrinkles on your face.

ADVICE: Take out the line extensions and fly it on short lines, ..you lose no power, and everything that is great, ..just gets better ;) (Posted on 28/11/13)

(Posted on 27/11/13)
